Where did you find the 6.4 Beta? I guess I didn't have Stardock Central installed, but even after doing that it doesn't 'see' any updates for WindowBlinds. I also emailed support (to get the latest build) and it sent the same "WindowBlinds 630..enhanced" as my previous e-mail from 3 months ago. Thanks

Sorry to drudge up this old post, but I am having this problem now since let Windows Update install IE8. As a temporary fix, I went into Internet Options->Advanced Tab and disabled visual styles for buttons and controls on webpages.

I came here looking for answers and see that a version of WindowBlinds fixes this problem. Here come the questions...

1. According to the WindowBlinds Configuration "About" tab I am running WindowBlinds 6.0 (Build 49 x86 Vista Edition). In SD Central it shows as 6.00.005. My Object Desktop subscription has lapsed. Does that mean that I cannot update to any minor working version of WindowBlinds (6.xxx) unless I pony up for a new subscription? Which I don't mind doing, just asking is all.

2. What is Impulse? Is this the current way to do minor version updates on my Object Desktop software or do I have to renew my Object Desktop subscription since that is what I was using before? I really have no clue about this.

Hi Frustrated,

Small text on web pages.

In the Windows Blinds(6),

Select Look & Feel>Fonts

Make sure you have selected "Normal" font size
and
Check "I do not want shadow and outline text effects used on controls" and
"I do not want to use any system wide fonts defined by this skin"

Click the "Apply Changes" button.

Close Windows blinds. You should be right to go from there, although I have
had some blue screens caused by WBA on Vista x86.
Oh! (bubble thought!)
On an XP machine you may have to select the "Never blur the background even
if the skin has blur enabled" on the "Transparency & Blur" tab, to get the
menu captions to appear in IE8 on XP machines.

Regards.
