Username in start panel

With a minority of WindowBlinds skins my Windows username appears in the top section of the start panel, but with the majority of skins it doesn't. I've tried using SkinStudio to look inside various skins to find out what makes the difference, but I can't figure it out. The start panel text settings don't seem to affect the issue. Can anyone shed any light on this, please? This topic doesn't appear to have come up anywhere in these forums, or indeed anywhere on the Web. Running WB 6.3 in Vista Home Basic. Many thanks.

Thanks for responding. None of the skins I currently have installed was made for Vista. As examples, my username is visible with ChromaXP, but invisible with Universe Metal. All the skins work fine otherwise.

In sks startpanel top part there are the text option and you can change where the text is displayed (text horz and vert offset) in the extra tab check that... i often set it to 3000 to get the text away as i think it more often than not messes with the design :)

On some of my XP skins, I made the user name very small, and colored to blend in with the top part of the start panel, so the name would not be visible.  If you are using a Vista skin, you will not have a user name at all....Vista does not support that.

voidcore: As I mentioned, playing with the text settings in SkinStudio doesn't make any difference in skins where the username is invisible; it stays invisible whatever the settings. In skins where the username is visible, its position can of course be changed as you suggest.

jazzymjr: I'm not sure whether Vista as my OS makes a difference in the case of non-Vista WB skins; some have the username visible, some don't. As far as I can see, this isn't due to the skin authors having `chameleonised' the username.
