Object Edit is no longer a component of Object Desktop.

Stardock exited the editor space so we could focus on our core competency of desktop enhancements.

Editors require maintenance to support continuously new and changing file types and user interface conventions.  Other companies that have a core competency in creating editors already have very compelling applications in this space (such as PrimalScript, Notepad++, Microsoft’s Word, Expressions, Visual Studio and many others).

As a result of the competition in this space and the fact that creating a file editor is not our core competency Object Edit was discontinued from Object Desktop on October 1, 2007.

Object Edit is still offered as a download through Impulse.  I have just upgraded my computer and gone to Vista 64.  It insalled fine and works, however the "Edit as text" option in the context menu does not show up in Vista as it did in XP.

I realize that Stardock will not be creating new versions, but do they still support it?  If not, please pull it from Impulse.

If you had access to a ODNT while it was available you will always have access to the last available version.

Unfortunatly,  it is unlikely that ObjectEdit will get any more updates.
