OK before I get branded a crackpot (more than usual) have a look at this!

Well my computer won't let me paste my photos even though I tell it It's fine but here is how I found out!

Go into impulse and right click on verify instalation it will say you need an update even though there isn't one (0.91.002 being the latest) left click on entrenchment and it will change to saying "update avalible (!)" and if you try to update it it will attempt to download the update (which really isn't there YET) giving you the 0.91.002 update which is the current beta version. After you try this you can repeat this as many times as you like! Could someone else post screenies of this beacuse by comp won't let me!

Obviously they are preping Impuse for the soon to be patch for the beta or for the V1.0 itself! Perhaps the placeholder date was not so placeholderesque as we thought! Or is the place holder date confusing the Impusle system? Will we see the V1.0 and the starbace range increase? Will I get a karma for my thread and are the world leaders really alien lizards? Tune in next episode for the exiting conclusion and the answers to all these questions!

The Jan 1 date is a placeholder, and nobody is around at the office to even think about staging a new build.

if thats true and its just a place holder and the beta isnt over there gonna be mad when they get back as its currently on sale not pre-order

We already know that it needs to be moved, just can't change the date at the moment due to some leftover issues from the Christmas Eve server fail.

Ah but why does impuse think there is another update hmm? HMM?? It must be version 0.92.002000000000001 is on the way and ready for upload to impuse for realz I'm not crazy!! Realy! :O

But is this happening to anyone else? Or has this whole thing just another trick the voices in my head made? Can we get a screenie so I know I'm not insane; we knows it happened we knows it! I'ma try it on my other computer...........

Edit: It works on mah other computer :O :O :O but you have to verify twice before you get the update option that don't work hmmm...........hmmmm..........

There will be multiple patches/updates; double didget's maybe before the final release, so we just have to "try" (and it's oh so hard) to be patient for the next round of beta testing.
