New Message Board Features

We've added a couple of new features to the messages boards:

1) Quoting.  You will notice a couple of new icons and the bottom of each post.  The "Q" button is used for quoting.  Just highlight the text you wish to quote and press the Q button and your test will be placed into the editor with the appropiate quoting tags.

2) Watching Threads.  You can not watch a thread.  Click on the magnifying glass to watch a thread.  When a new reply gets posted and email will be sent to you notifying you that the thread has new activity.  Also there is a link (Show My Watch List) at the top of the page that will show only the posts that you are watching.

3) A "Show My Posts" link has been added to the top of the page.  This will only show posts in which you have created.

4) The Search Bar has been added to the SDC Messages as well.

Oh yes, and

5) The ability to Edit your posts.  But  you can only edit it within the first 15 minutes of posting it.

There will be an edit button and the bottom of your message.  But it will only show up for the first 15 minutes after you have posted a message.

First, thank you very much!

Two tiny problems. I can no longer view threads in "Galactic Council", they all say I am not authorized to view this page. This might be intentional, I'll just scrap that forum if so.

Plus, that's the first time I've seen the Edit icon. Does it only appear when you post from the website rather than SDC?

Ok.  The edit button should appear now after you post.  I had it the incorrect access level set.

If closing SDC and re-launching it will force a logoff/relogon, then yes, the problem still exists.

I do use SDC from two machines, and both have this problem.

This is a test of a quote from a browser, not SDC. *edit* Looks like I can't quote from SDC any more, but the browser works. I'll stop cluttering up this thread with my test posts now.

Ok, I believe I have fixed the quoting issue. But as far as the issue with your access to the Galactic Council. Try this. Using the Webbrowser in SDC, go to Galciv.com and logoff. Then relogon back on. Hopefully you should be able to access it now. I have tested your account and I was able to access it.

Ugg... Test should be TEXT and "You can not watch a thread" should be you can NOW watch a thread... Guess you should have jumped on that edit within 15 minutes deal eh? ;p

I'd love to see the ability to post my sig automaticaly. With empires becoming more prevalent sig's will follow suit i believe. If I could put my sig in my profile, that would be ideal.

Also, I want to sort the messages by their icon, i.e.
unread, read, read w/ new, sticky etc.
