This game stinks

Every time I start a new Civ my economy goes down the toilet and I get trounced. I can't establish trade routes. My acceptance always plummets. I have no idea how everyone else is getting any score higher than zero.

Well you have two options. You can be ignorant (current status)... OR you can go to the strategy forum and ask for help. Personally i got trounced my first few games but I learned and became better.

Or you can take the lesson learned that you're not cut out to rule people who don't "accept" you. :D

Every time I play chess against my father I lose hands down. Boy does that game realy stink. :p

Chess does stink. Though I *always* beat my father when I was 6!

I think somewhere along the line he turned up the AI on me, the bastard. :sniff!:

:notsure: I started out the same way. Then I just decided to give it a rest and do some research on this forum. Then I found Java's website and that helped alot. After that I started from scratch and am having a ball! Your not going to master a game like this over time but you can master it.

When I was 6 my dad crushed me mercilessly time and again at chess so that now I have no desire to play it. Problem solved.

Treblid, it might be easier to get help if you didn't trash a game most of the people here really like...anyway,

if you build a freighter and send it to another empire's planet, it will make a trade route, unless you already have the max legal number set by united planets law.

the above link has some links to threads that help with morale and money i found. don't forget to use starbases and economic modules to increase the cash on a trade route.

No.. you just stink at the game. ;p

Seriously though, there are many strategies for economy improvement, from starbases, to freighters, to government changes to techs. Things like tax rate and spending affect your economy. Look more deeply and you shall see the light. LOL

yeah. dont be a whiner. See, once upon a time there was this OTHER whiner, called Wampyre or some such silly archeaic name for the nosferatu and see, he always complained and bitched and moaned that the game cheated and he couldnt win and the other races were so mean to him and blah blah blah. He turned into a rabid drooling, nosepicking, and extremely annoying monster that was beginning to irritate the board but then...............he got better. :d

Wampyre,

You know,I gotta say it- you have a really healthy attitude man. Better than mine on this subject, I gotta admit. My ego sucks to have to feed, damned thing.

"Every time I start a new Civ my economy goes down the toilet and I get trounced."
Tried getting some economy bonuses for racial picks?

"I can't establish trade routes."
You need the "Trade" tech before you can actually trade. You also have to trade with the AI, not amongst your own planets.

"My acceptance always plummets."
Morale? Build some morale enhancing buildings. Build starbases on morale enhancing resources. Pick morale enhancing racial abilities.

"I have no idea how everyone else is getting any score higher than zero."
Even if you lose you should get above 0. ;)
