I Need More Help

I've tried installing windowblinds using impulse on 3 OS's:  Win XP, Vista 32U, and Vista 64.  I just cannot get windowblinds to run.  Iconpackager works fine on all 3 OS's, but when it comes to windowblinds, I keep getting the "Please Reboot" Screen that gives you 2 other options: Install later, and Use Other Processes.

I'm tired of reinstalling over and over again.

On my last try today, I did a fresh reinstall of Window XP, shut down windows firewall, used windows update but didn't install the malicious software removal tool, then installed impulse/windowblinds, then rebooted.  I've gotten the same message.

Thanks for any helpful suggestions.

What version of WindowBlinds, Trial or the paid Full Version?

It is the paid full version.  I had bought OD last october 07, and I built a new computer this november 08, not realizing that my subscription had expired (I didn't archive anything).  Support emailed me a link for 'the programs I had paid for, up to the end of my subscription to OD'.

It is version 6.20.089_07.23.2008

I tried clicking on the .exe's in the WB folder, and I actually got the screen up and running, but it won't allow me to apply any skins, instead going to the windows classic theme by default.  I looked into the System Info tab, and it said the program was properly installed on my system, and that it was properly activated.  I regret not copying all the info down as I cannot recreate what I did, lol.

Are using Impulse to to do the install or are you installing it without...  If you are having trouble with Impulse try using old Stardock Central

Make sure you completely uninstall what you have got in there before you reinstall.  The best way to remove software and also to remove any registry settings and cookies, use Revouninstaller.

You will only be able to install the programs that you had up to the end of your subscription by using the link supplied by Support.  Trying to install WindowBlinds from Impulse is installing the trial version as your subscription has expired. That is probably why you are getting the reboot message.

Uninstall WindowBlinds and reboot. Install WindowBlinds from the link you received from Support and reboot.

Lastly, if you haven't done so already, please email [email protected] and start a trouble ticket. They will be able to assist you.
