Diplomacy Online

Does anyone play diplomacy online?

I've noticed that no one plays diplomacy online. Why is that?

They're called FFA's--Free For All's.  Perhaps people don't like getting backstabbed by former "allies"?  I think they also tend to be longer games and if it ends up as a 1v1 at the end on a large system (a Locked teams FFA) then it can get real boring.

Personally, I think that locked teams games are much more interesting.

Are you sure they're called FFA?  FFA I thought was a 1vs1vs1vs1 teams locked. Diplomacy is teams unlocked.

I've seen FFA's before but not diplomacy.

Yeah I think you are right, it's the length of the game. So with diplomacy though, you can win with an Ally correct? It doesn't have to end in a 1v1... or am I wrong?  I liked playing the diplo games in Rise of Nations. Really made for  a dynamic experience. Some people might stab you in the back while others would stick with you no matter what. Plus you don't really know who your ally will be until you're in the game part way through.  I also wonder how trading pacts would work with humans. When I play SP I like to start a lot of cease fires and trade agreements to boost my economy.

LOL

Seriously, I think that most people online aren't that worried about their stats to ruin a game like that. Who knows though, could happen. I think this weekend I'll try hosting a diplo match online.

lol too true

im pretty sure that if the teams are unlocked diplo or a FFA then it has to end in a 1v1 but with locked teams then you can have an allied victory
