Create a new skin

From Aero...

Hello hello,

I've a question, I'd like to create a new skin for my Vista with WindowsBlind/SkinStudio. But I'm quite happy with Aero, the only real think I don't like is the taskbar.

So, I'd like to know if I can create a new skin with SkinStudio but from Aero not from the default skin of SkinStudio? And how?

Thanks for your answers.

See you.

I would take one of the many aero clones available and edit that for my personal use.

Are you asking if you could change simply the task bar on your regular Vista theme?  Because I think all you would have to do is make a copy of the one you're using in Skin Studio 6, and then change the task bar.  (I have XP, so I don't know if you can copy the Aero that comes with Vista, but if not, then just download one of the Aero themes from here, and change the task bar).  Island Dog wrote a fantastic tutorial on skinning the task bar, so I think you would just copy the Vista area you already have change the task bar.

One thing you could do is to start a new WB skin. Under each graphic element except for the taskbar, set the image to "No Image Defined." Then skin your taskbar. This should leave you with Windows Aero except for your customized taskbar.

This is probably a little more work than simply snagging a Vista clone, but it'll give you true Aero, not a clone.

Thanks to you. I'll look for the 2 solutions.

I've tried the 2 solutions, but no one is good. I can't copy Aero and if I leave "No Image Defined.", there is.... nothing.

Another solution?

Try applying the Aero theme first, then apply your skin where you had most parts w/o images defined.
