Check to see if desktop window manager is runnin as a service.  Set it to automatic. (start | Control Panel | Admin tools | Services).  Then right-click and start it if it is stopped.

What is your experience score?  And from Windowblinds, post yoru system info.

What color bit setting are you using? I had the same message untill I went to Display Settings and changed the color bit from 16 to 32.

I always keep mine at 32 bit so I am scratching my head trying to figure out how it got switched back to 16 bit...Must be an older software i am running...

Oops! too late! :dur:

Ok I was having the same problem..(Check to see if desktop window manager is runnin as a service). This is what I did to make it work:  Right click on My Computer go to Properties then Advanced System Settings then Performance then Settings. Make sure you have your system set up as ... Adjust for best appearance. After I did that DeskScapes worked just fine.. All Scapes work.

FYI your Desktop Window Manager Session Manager runs as default no need to do anything with that
