backup your patches

Is there a way to back up your patch so that if you needed to reinstall the game you do not have to download the whole patch again? It took me forever to get the 1.11 patch downloaded . What folder or file is that downloaded patch in?

Thanks

I can't say for sure, but I would guess that you could just copy your entire Sins folder. Then, if you reinstall, you can replace the un-updated version with the copy.

You'd have to archive each game version in Impulse. So if you want to go back, you'd just have to re-install from the archive(s).

I recently asked a similair question on the Impulse forums as I have the game on 2 machines, one with internet and the other without, I was wondering how I could back-up the patch in order to take it to the PC with no connection.

I was told to simply copy the whole installation directory onto a stick, and simply copy the lot into my Programs Folder. No installation, nothing. It works, you can even run it from a USB stick.

Yeah, the folder copy trick is fine, and the way to do it for an offline PC.. but archives are the "official" way :P
