Impulse Issue!

I installed Sins with Stardock Central, now i am trying to update to 1.1 with impulse. However for some reason Impulse doesn't think i have Sins installed on my PC, and wants me to download/install the whole thing. so unless i do that i can not update Sins - very annoying.

Any ideas why this is happening-or not happening?

It tossed the game on me after I'd updated to a beta patch, not sure why.  There might be an issue with that if you were running a beta version.  No clue on failure to recognize sdc installs though.  I was a preorder, had it installed from sdc from the start before switching to impulse, got the beta patches off just fine.

@xsasinator: have you tried installing the game again, and chose the folder where it allready is? Impulse will check, maybe download a few files and register the install location.

Try adding your registration key to impulse and uninstall the game you have on your computer currently. Then go to the my games tab in impulse and click install.

ok this is really starting to bug me

i went to the folder that sins is in to try unistall it, click on the sins_uninstall.exe and nothing happened. clicked on the sins_install.exe and nothing happened. so i though hey, i will try it through impulse, so i went to impulse then tried to download sins again so it would let me install and update, it then procceds to download a 700mb or so file, get to about 80% then says file smaller than expected. so i thought great, it finished early and is ready, but no, only a retry button exists, i click on that and hey it starts to download again, but it is now back at 0% and 0 out of 700mb done. Not fun for me, i just downloaded like 500mb of NOTHING that i can not USE!!!!

i then tried to download a my colour theme from impulse also, and it did the same thing, gets halfway through and then comes up with the same message, file smaller than expected, click retry and it start off from square one.

So my next step is hey i want to play sins, so i try that since i guess the file that was download only got part the way through, and was only downloading not installing i should be fine, and will just have to live with out the great update of 1.11 - but no, to my suprise i click on sins and it loads a black screen, and stays on that no matter what i do and i have to restart the computer.

This is really starting to bug me, big ups to the crew of sins, not so much to impulse - cant you just provide the update via normal download?

well until this is sorted looks like i will have to retreat to my trusty xbox 360 who has never let me down.

File smaller than expected messages usually indicate that a Antivirus app is still scanning when Impulse checks to see if the game (or whatever) is done.

Turn off your AV and you should be fine.

i've given up on impulse for the simple reason. everytime i try and DL it i only get like 10 or 20 megs. then i get download error from impulse and get to waste another 1-3 hours of downloading for another error. i could get it all within 16 hours if Impulse would behave like a real download manger like leechget or reget.  i am legit and being that im on dial-up im hualing at 5kb down and 3k up. ( mock speed for me)

that said. any ideas on how to get the patch alternativly?

If you have not installed teh full Impulse build I would.  Early builds may have had issues on your rig.  Impulse Client - Full
