Well in the spirit of experimentation I decided to test out this article making facility. As I am currrently engaged, amongst other things, in creating GT3 I thought I would offer some previews of the skin suite which will (approximately) mark my 1 year skinning anniversary. :CONGRAT:

So, without further ado, being a skinner not a writer, here are some samples of what is to come in the not too distant future...


the start menu - trying to stay reasonably close to the layout of GT2, but with extra sex appeal... :SURPRISED:


shellstyle images - these are perhaps the most significant departure from GT2 in some ways


the downloading progress animation - shown in context with the normal and light substyles ('light' here is a relative term)


a shot showing toolbar icons, custom throbber, and general windowiness - warning, it's quite a dark skin :LOL:


well now, what's this?


I haven't really started into the peripheral skins yet, but here is a sample of a prospective rainy candidate

Well, that's more or less the state of play atm. The windowblind is 99% complete, just undergoing final testing and addition of a special feature that should be quite fun :) I hope to do a few other skins and dx objects to accompany the suite, although I'm not sure it will be as comprehensive as GT2 in that regard. Time, as ever, will tell.

Tiggz I love this desktop and would love bothe the Icons and the cursors in the sample screenshot.
I saw the cursors you have posted but they look diferent does it contain both?

Hi.

The skin sure looks awesome in the screnshot.

But all i really get from it is the titlebars and the start button. The taskbar and start menu isn't skinned.

I think it's because i use win2k =/

Is there any chance of the start menu and taskbar coming for ObjectBar? I don't like a lot of skins and none of them really work in win2k if you want everything and not just fancy titlebars ((

I'm told objectbar can "import" windowblinds skins but i can't find it anywhere. You have to build them yourself and then use the graphics from your windowsblinds skin right?

I so want this skin! I'll pay you in marshmallows if you do it for objectbar too hehe.

Hello Tiggz.
Im a newbie in using WindowBlidns, and customizing my windows at all. I ran into your skin today, and was simply so amazed with it so i started to install allmost all the programs that can gt3-ize my windows. the only problem is, that the avi files that you put into your skin don't seem to work at all(they don't show up when im deleting/downloading/moving, etc. stuff)... Maybe its because i dont use desktopx? if so, plz, somebody, thell me how to download and install it, because an the official desktopx site it says that the demo version of it isnt downloadable, and to dload the full version i must pay(and i really dont want to).
But other than that, its the best skin ive seen.

Tony - I'm not really sure about that, maybe the animations aren't skinned in the free version of windowblinds. I have had the paid version of windowblinds since before skinning those was even possible so I have absolutely no idea if it's a feature of the paid version or whether you are experiencing a glitch.
I can tell you that it's nothing to do with desktopx tho It's a windowblinds issue of some kind.

Ookay, so its the animation problemm. The free version of WB doesent support animations, so i gues i have to pay to get animations to work. And maybe someday ill do so. Thanx anyway.

I love your work on all the skins that you have made. I wanted to mention to you that I made a sysmetrix skin from some of your work you did with GT3 and I wanted to send it to you by email or something. Its something I didnt want to upload since its your work, I just altered it. I just figured you would like to see it and tell me what you think. I just couldnt find any email links to you on this site (unless I am just blind ) so I decided to post here instead. Mr.Tiggz. Bloody good effort on your GT3 theme. I use GT3 exclusively. Got the calendar to start up but the recycle bin and CPU meter I cannot. Icon package please!!! If you ever get stateside let me know. We have Bell's Brewerey of Kalamazoo that is not to shabby if you partake in a pint now and then. If anyone can describe a the way to get these 2 icons to start-up with ObjectDock, please help.

Never mind previous post. Figured it out. See below. Tiggz wrote.

p.s. There really should be this kind of info attached to the skins so newbies spend less time figuring out how to install the different downloads.

Great Work Tiggz ,

I would love to see you go far with the gt3. I'm new in the area of these programs. I got a little help with Remo. And love his work as well. Haven't tried anything yet. I'm doing a lot of downloading, and playing around. As I said to Remo, I'm on dissability with a rare disease. And they found a temporary fix. I have arthritic symptoms,that have something to do with high white blood cells.Not lukemia thank god lol. But what I'm taking is helping with my pain,and swelling.So anyway, I'm at home with a lot of time on my hands lol. I have most of your widgets to go with the theme,and logon as well. Really cool. What I'd love to see is a msn messenger theme in a widget form like your rainys,or in that nature,and an aol aim messenger. I know I'm asking a lot. But I've never tried these programs yet. And afraid to screw up my system.I have limited cash flow. and doctor bills,all that crap.Can't afford anything,but getting free downloads to run the themes,suits,widgets,ect.

Well I agree that you efforts should be rewarded but also that some people can not afford to pay for skins. Like Martin Scheller says not everyone has the money and sharing is a part of being a family. I you choose to download freely then you should, in most cases, upload freely. In your case Tiggz the skin does seem truly incredible. You have clearly invested a great deal of time into this. Perhaps if people wanted to donate money to your prefered charity or something like that, you would be in agreement with it. I for one am waiting with baited breath to a) buy OD and b) to download your skin. I would be very happy to donate money to a good cause in your name.

I know i'm asking for a lot. Any Chance of a general instant messenger widget GT3 To work with msn, aim, and yahoo?. Not sure if it could be done. But I thought if anyone could do it, you could. I'm really impressed with your work. This is one of my favorite themes. I love all your toys. I tried to design a windowblinds myself. But being self taught on a computer, I need to figure it out a little better. Keep up the good work. great job

Your a real pro. I have a question. I am developing sites for people and would like to use some of your skins art for my sites as creating web themes is a chore. I have little money yet but if i can create a good folio and can offer some of these excellent themes then It would help considerably. If you could it wont mean any work for you i would just take a screen shot and adapt the stuff, its really just for border round my frames. Let me know what you'd require in return for this.
