How to organize the screen?

I am having a problem with organizing the main window. I would like to have only few planets there (production ones and some border planets) and fleets. At this moment I have too much objects on the screen. There is a "pin mechanism" in the game, however I was unable to figure, how does it work.  Can anyone explain it to me, please?

Hey mrakomo,

In the interface settings there are several "auto-pin" options. It gets cluttered if you have auto-pin planets on. You can pin/unpin manually by using the ~ key (right above Tab). I play the same way as you do, I only want the important planets on it and such so I turn off auto-pin planets/frigates, and I manually attach the planets I want to the tree by selecting them and pressing ~.
