Ship-Texture Bug - PLEASE HELP !

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone of you could give me a little technical advice about a technical problem i have. My computer isn't high end anymore but it has all the requred parameters (an a gforce 4 mx grapfics card).

On my computer i've currentley installed Galactic civilisations - ENDLESS UNIVERSE version 1.0. (dark avatar 1.82 / twilight of arnor 1.97). I've deinstalled GalCiv2 GOLD EDITION before installing endless universe, could this be the cause??

Dread lords and dark avatar work superbly, however the new ship textures in twilight of the arnor don't load propperly, instead of ships i get white "wholes". Its like the ships hull hasn't loaded but the interior is still there. I don't know what cause there could be for this problem scince the twilight of arnor ship models are more detailed though use aprox. 1/4 the memory.

Anybody who has an idea please give me some advice!!

Thanks for all and any help in advance.

greetings

Van

A GeForce 4 MX?

Jesus.

Okay, well, if DL and DA work perfectly, then go into your options in TA and uncheck the following:
Enable Animated Components
Allow Mixed Vertex Processing Mode (My bet's on this one.)
Use Enhanced Ship Rendering

That should do it.  If not, report back.

If you mean to say you're seeing simple icons instead of ships, just adjust the tactical zoom slider in the options.

It worked, i changed the options and now i can see ships instead of "icons" thanks, though they still dont look as detailed as in pictures i googled. I think your right Sole Soul, jes i need a new grafic card.

gf4 MX was never high end btw ...

gf4 MX is low end of gf4 and is more or less equal to gf3 MX which itself is low end of gf3 ...-_-

I hope you have not been mistaken by a crappy saleman at buy time ...

The GeForce4 MX is actually little more than an upclocked GeForce2. The actual architecture has little in common with the real GF4 or any GF3 at all.

To the OP - also try the workaround described in reply #2 of this thread if you want to try and get textures working without buying a new video card.
