Presidential Lineup
I hope this link works. This is a large image of the St.Petersburg Times section about the presidents. Just thought some might be interested. http://usera.imagecave.com/angus49/Presidential%20Ratings.jpg

Ooops, Tried the link directly and then copy and paste in the address bar above, didn't work. ![]()
Sorry, you'll have to do a copy and paste, but it works that way.![]()
Sorry Philly. You have to highlight the Ratings.jpg part also when you copy, and then I launch it in another tab. it works for me on ie7. Let me know.
Worked with adding the ratings.jpg part.
I bet you can see all the old guys waiting at the bus stop there in St. Petersburg!

fixed.
You da man Zubaz. I didn't know how to fix it. Maybe I'm too much Trekkie and not enough Techie.
Well, it is interesting, but everyone's opinions and feelings differ on this and they're all somewhat subjective. I think that the Presidents of the far past had a weaker magnifying glass on them (maybe not at the time, but via the "Retrospectoscope") compared to the more recent ones.
Also, I think circumstances can make or break one...and the perceptions of the people of that time. Clearly some were outstanding in how they 'rose' to the challenges, but not all of them had major challenges to rise to.
JMO.
How does Woodrow Wilson rate "Near Great"? Must be because he gave us Income Taxes or maybe because he invented the draft......
I also feel Lincoln's inability to peacefully resolve issues should push him way down the list. How much greater he'd have been if he'd have accomplished the same goals without forcing a violent rebellion.
Ronald Reagan would be in my top 3......between Washington and Jackson
