Thanks Philly, those were great cartoons.
You are very welcome angus1949. ![]()
Yes indeed, Philly. Thank you.
The Official day may now have passed, but let us never forget that their committement has kept us free. I never know if someone is a vet just by looking at them of course, but whenever I see a man or woman wearing a hat or pin, etc. that imparts they may be a veteran I ask, and if they are I always ask if I may shake their hand and thank them for their service. It's a very small thing to do that makes a huge difference to many vets.
You're so right! I do the same with my patients. One gave me a pair of his old jump wings when we shared experiences. It's nice to hear gratitude for service and recognition for accomplishments.
You are a fine person, angus and your deeds reflect it.
Hum...Ya know I wear a pin on my ball cap that say I'am retired from the Army and the first thing every asks is were you in Nam. And it goes down hill from there. If they were in and or retired, then its a positive talk. Seems the stigma is still there.
I'm really sorry to hear that WOM. I thought we had gone way past that hippie, disestablishmentarianism crap by now. My old friend decked a biatch in LAX in '68 when she spit on him. It may have been an unpopular war politically, but that should take nothing from the men who fought, died or were wounded doing what their government asked and ordered them to do. You have my hand WOM.![]()
