recording demigod

what's the best program?

Hi,

I tried the Search feature which didn't turn up any posts, and I tried ctrl-f.

What's the best software to record Demigod videos for posting online?

I use Fraps, works alright.

You can also use Xfire's video recorder mode, which works decently enough. It does have the drawback of only encoding in Xfire codec, but you can convert or just link to the site.

I know, so was I

But I'll link you to one I made using the described method:

(Sure, it's not game footage, but it's still made using your method)

I got best performance with CamStudio (it's freeware) on my computer ;managed to record at about 15fps/second without ingame slowdowns in a good enough quality. haven't tried Xfire yet though.

Cool, Fraps works pretty well.  Only 30 seconds in trial mode, but the quality is nice.  It did degrade system performance, but I'm assuming I can tweak a thing or two for that, and it will probably reduce the file size.  719mb for a 30-second clip seems quite ... large.

I have a Core2duo [email protected], 4 Gigs of RAM on Vista 64, and 8800GTX 768 video.  What are the 2 or 3 most important game settings and Fraps settings to tweak to achieve optimal file size and game performance during recording?

And, what do you modify your recordings with after you make them?  I am running the Trial version of Vegas right now, but it seems to only allow me to speed up or slow down by 4x.  Camtasia is a sweet little editor also, nice zoom and highlighting effects, I use it at work.  I can't get a trial of Premiere because it's not available for CS4 yet.
