5. John McCain - He didn't vett the Governor properly, so it was up to the media to do it for him.
4. George W. Bush - His policies over the last eight years were a disaster for America's economy and saddled McCain with "Bush Fatigue".

1. IT'S THE ECONOMY, STUPID!!!! - The stock market crash and John McCain's bungling of his response to it made him look weak, frail and out of touch. Barack Obama, on the other hand was cool, calm and collected. In other words, he looked like a leader.
