WB incompatible with Sony Z?

Hi. I've got one of the new Sony Z notebooks (specifically the VGN-Z11VN). These notebooks have a hybrid graphics system. They have a switch that changes between the integrated Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD(part of the GM45 express chipset) and a NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS. This change happens on the fly. When I use WB it initially works, but when I reset the computer (no matter which graphics mode I boot up in) the backgrounds of the windows and start menu are all completely translucent and unusuable. I've tried the last few versions, including the current 6.3. I am using Vista 32, 4GB ram.

I've currently uninstalled it. I would be interested to hear if anyone a Sony Z notebook with a similar experience or different. Thanks.

Using the current Dell Latitude XT with ATIĀ® Integrated Graphics Radeon Xpress 1250 I am not having any troubles with our skins. I was hoping testing with the onboard chipset would help but I'm not having the same troubles. Is Sony using a software package to control the video and drivers? Have you had any of the same troubles with any other graphic programs of any type?

It sounds like the video drivers cause corruption of the bitmaps during the switch between devices.

Thanks for the replies guys. I just re-installed WB so I could get some screen shots to post of the problems. Happily, at least for the moment, all seems to be working! I've done a few restarts and used the unit in both graphics modes without incident. I'll repost with more details to this thread if the problem recurs. Thanks again. David
