slowdown/framerate issue in Endless Universe

can this be fixed?

I don't know exactly what you would call it but it causes a sort of 'jerky' animation and it is extremely annoying to play the game like this. Also, the game runs this way whether the video settings are 'Best' or 'Poor.' Specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core processor 4800+

nVidia Geforce 6150 SE (integrated)

4 GB RAM

Also i've tried updating drivers for the AMD dual core and nVidia through device manager, and it tells me both are already current. is this just because i'm using integrated graphics or is it possible to get this game working better?

End of quote

It could be, but devman/windows update are not reliable resoures for the latest drivers. If you're seeing objects spinning uncontrollably, then it is indeed an AMD CPU driver issue, which can be remedied by downloading and install the AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (x86 and x64 exe) file found at the bottom of this page.

If, on the other hand, you're just seeing a poor framerate (consistently or not), it is indeed probably due to the lack of graphics muscle on your machine.

Now that I've played a little bit, it doesn't seem that bad and, conincidentally, seems mostly only noticeable when spinning or rotating is occuring (big metal thing on title screen, icon showing galaxy size, icon previewing ship, etc). Thanks a lot for the reply, it must only be that my PC is lacking.

That being said, I have Vista so would a driver update for the dual core still be needed, possibly?

In the case of Vista, no. The timing issue was resolved before Vista was released, so its default AMD drivers are fine.
