{Bug} Random Death

When playing as Rook, I would often Pull up a tower of light. the porblem is that my towers would kind of loose health and die randomly, sometinmes a weak enemy would attack it with full health, then it would suddenly die. I'm not sure what it was, though I get the idea it has something to do with the fact that when I was attacking the enemy base, I pulled out of the attack to head back for some potions, and suddenly my health started dropping drastically fast, and it happened a few times, always when I was at the edge of the middle pathway into the dark sides base, (even after The towers of light there were destroyed).

I haven't seen this.  By chance were you playing against the unclean beast?  I played against him as a rook and he dropped me like paper.  I didn't know what hit me the first 2 time it was so fast.

When I play rook I always get owned by the Unclean Beast. A couple days ago I saw someone post that if the enemy has "thorns" then the rook's archer tower arrows each activate the thorns and EACH ONE does that thorn damage to the rook, and that's what I assume must be happening when I fight AI Beasts. I haven't tried not getting the archer tower ability and seeing if that stops this from happening, but it sounds like it would make sense as an explanation. I have no idea what to say about your towers just dying like that though, lol.

That explains a lot.  I will try this out.  This should definately change.  Thorns should only affect melee attacks.

That might be it, but it only seemed to be in one place, and I did not have thorn, plus I wasn't directlly fighting the unclean beast, I'll check agian to see if it happens, although it's only happened near the dark enemies base on the waterfall map, but I'll run through it a few more times.

Rook's spawned ToLs despawn after 45 seconds.

Huh, is this a bug?

I think the spawned tower should stay up.

Right now it would be more of a gameplay issue. They are, in fact, designed to do that. The issue is more with a) whether that should happen or b ) if so, how long should the last (right now it's now possible to achieve the maximum number of towers with out moderate (level III) or severe (level II) casting time reductions.

The problem is not that, I of course expected something like that, and at first attributed to how the code had been rewritten, but as time went on, this damage thing with both Rook and the towers was just to much. Yes the towers fell down after 45 secounds, but most of the ones near the enemy base wouldn't last that long, not to mention it seemed as if when i hit an enemy through the tower, it would get damaged but agina I thought that was how the code was written.

its pretty stupid that it doesnt stay up i mean u can have like 5 towers up at a time but u cant even get the 4th up before the 1st dies that skill is worthless if it does that might as well be only a 1 lvl skill

Yes it seems that the towers should stay up.  Possibly the towers could cost mana and health to offset the effectiveness of this strategy.  The justification for an HP cost is that the stones come from his own structure.  This gives a greater cost and allows the ability to both be useful and "make sense".  As it stands he is basically summoning a temporary tower.  To me the rook shouldn't summon a tower but create it from his own body (stone), and thus HP.

Can you reproduce this in better detail? I.e., if you use the "bowling ball" ability, does it damage the tower when passing over? Or do you mean something else?

It happened a few times. I would bring up a tower in front of me, and then when a basic meele unit or units would attack the tower, I would swing my arm to attack them (basic Rook Attack) and the arm would pass through the tower and hit the enemies, but the tower seemed to take damage, way more then it should of from enemy at the time anyway.
