WindowBlinds 6.3 Not working for me

well i tried everything to fix it uninstalled, installed impulse used that to install windowblinds 6.3, still same problem, so i put in a support ticket hopefully they can help me getting working again.

You probably did this, but I'll ask, between the uninstall and the reinstall did you run a clean up program like CCleaner, clean up registry and reboot?  Then did you reboot after the new install?  If you, for some reason on the first install got a bad download you want to make sure you get rid of it first be reinstalling.  Like I said, you probably did that.

hey philly, yea did that uninstalled registry clean with ccleaner and tuneup, then redownloaded it with impulse, going to try and rollbackmy ati drivers and see if that fixes it.

well that didn't work so i dont know why it 6.3 is not working for me =[

My windowblinds aren't working under vista. When I select a theme all i get is a nice error & a fucked up theme and then I have to restart before i can change the theme back

Interesting that your monitor and video card are not showing up in the WB config.

hey, yea they are trying to help but so far doing the same thing, only thing i can think of is that i went from nvidia 8800GT to Ati Hd 4870 and its doing this so they sent me a bat file to run that didnt help so now im waiting for a reply.

Same thing is happening with my computer also. All drivers are up to date and no dice.

i just ran a new bat file they sent me and its still doing same thing i really want to use zing skin

thats what happens when i apply a windowblind skin, everything gets all messed up =[

anyone else have this problem besides me and BadFrog66

they are still trying to help me, they asked for system info under windowblinds just sent them that info and waiting for a reply

OMG, I about started a new thread, glad I checked here first.  I'm running Vista Home Premium, 64 bit and same thing.  I was so excited to finally get to use Windowblinds on Vista as I've been running XP Pro for years and years.  So I finally get a new rig (quad core, 8 gigs of DDRII RAM and high end graphics card to do my 3D stuff with and thought... "hmmm, Windowsblinds might be fun at ths point"... yea... real fun. 

Icon Packager killed all my system and program icons, had paper icons in their place.  Unistalled and rebooted, go those back.  Windowblinds, Dragon theme, tweaked it up a bit and "apply changes" and got Windows basic, no Aero.  Ugly, old Windows theme.  Hideous.  Uninstalled that and luckily I had the tweaked Aero theme backed up in My Documents so I just applied Aero theme and then applied my "Green Theme" and got all my settings back.  Thank god for that at least. 

So is there nothing we can do here or just wait for an update, bug fix for this?? 

I can wait.  No biggie.  Just please no more hideous old Windows theme.  *gags*

I'm also having problems with WB 6.3, using 64bit XP, SP2. When I apply a theme, the theme doesn't appear. The windows have no style at all, and the File, etc. menu appears to overlap the top of the window.

We need a way to downgrade installations in Impulse, please. 6.2 worked fine, but I don't know how to get back to it.

I seem to be having the same issues as the OP.  I have a legit verion and vista ultimate 64.  I can only get the My Colors stuff to apply.  All the other styles and themes make the OS revert back to classic look.  Is there a problem with themes and 64 bit vista maybe?

I am running Vista Home Basic and WB 6.3 and having the same problem. It is really annoying. Also, I don't know what happened, but now when I run Impulse.. it will freeze and will be 'logging in' until I get frustrated and give up and shut down my pc. Dammit, Stardock, WTF?!?!

well they just sent me 6.2 to try and that is also doing the same exact thing so now i don't know whats wrong.Only thing i changed in system was my video card and probably other windows updates. So i dont know why this is doing it

Everything with me was working fine until I applied the new Halloween theme with MyColors. After that I wouldn't get back the control of my system with WindowBlinds. Can't even see the theme previews with WindowBlinds and cant apply any new themes. Perhaps incompatibility with MyColors? Or maybe with the new Nvidia drivers?

Well, I gotta tell ya - Stardock rocks! I just noticed an update to WindowBlinds that fixed the issue for me! Thanks for that quick look into it! Was it as Nvidia issue or was MyColors the culprit?

Sorry to say, this morning Windowblinds is acting up again. Every time I try to start it theres an error message saying "Windowblinds configuration has stopped working and needs to close". My Vista machine is Vista 32 bit. Any ideas?

Well, I found out how to correct the problem. Weird! I launched WB from the actual program folder (not with the shortcut), wbconfig.exe and it opened up just fine. After that I was able to launch it from the shortcut without a problem. What do you think could have happened?

I'm having same problem.  (God, how I hate basic Windows themes!)  I figured my Spyware Doctor was the culprit, identifying WB as a Trojan.  But first, I disabled SD, then shut it down completely.  Still no change.  Thought about going back to a restore point with WB 6.2, but I've installed a new monitor and additional software since then and can't afford the hassle to redo everything.  Hey, folks, have we got a fix yet?!

I'm having exact same problem as Gelabert.  Get message WindowBlinds Configuration has stopped working.  I tried opening from the program file instead of shortcut but that gave same results.  When I open WB, all the skins show up as "unknown" and the only way I can occasionally apply a skin is to hit Random Skin.  When I click on an "unknown skin", it will show up in window but I can't load it, not by double clicking or clicking to apply my changes. None of those buttons work. If I click the Wallpaper tab, WB crashes immediately and everytime.  I'm using Windows Vista-32 bit. The button to copy my System Info doesn't work but it shows everything appears to be working.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times.  Even downloaded Impulse and installed from it and still same problem.  One thing I did notice in System Info, it shows Windows XP although I'm actually using Windows Vista.  This is new comp that came with Vista installed.  I previously had Windows XP and WB worked fine on it.  Really wish someone could come up with a solution. It's driving me buggy and I hate wasting money on a program that doesn't work.

RAMWOLFF!!!!  OMG!  Recognize you from Daz!  I am also having issues with WB 6.3.  I'm running XP Pro (32 bit).  I reformatted my computer the other day and now WB won't work.  I try to load it and it gives me an error message saying that WB has encountered an error and needs to close.
