Bug: Game slowdown on 2v2 map

This is on the new 2v2 map.

When the game escalates to giants, my side's giants all get stuck in the second-to-outermost light/archer tower gates.

For each giant that gets stuck, the game slows down.  The framerate is still beautiful, but the actual game runs in slower and slower motion.

First, I thought I had hit a "decrease game speed" key by accident, but I managed to reproduce this by starting a new game and waiting for the giants.

Sorry for the unspecific "Bug:" tag, but none of the categories match.  Well, "[MISC]" does, but that's not any better.

I will agree with the aparent cause as well, but for me it wasn't just the giants getting stuck the catapult things and the priests were stuck on top of each other.  I at least saw 4 catapult tails, two priest staffs and I think two giants all combined at the first turn from the base.  It was funny, until the slow down got to the point that it wasn't funny any more.

I hadn't figured out the cause, as it just happend to me and I quit out of frustration.  It had 4 real seconds to every game second at the end.

i hnever had slow down problems but the giant stuck thing was informed to us well before it came out

Trigeminal, exact same thing happen to mine. And it lags a bit here and there.

I do feel it going slower when giant comes though

Because my machine is very good, it's definitely something to do with pathfinding bug I'd assume

End of strikersgun's quote

It isn't on the Beta1A notes? Unless I missed it.

Yarlen said it to us in the morning like 2 hours before it came out

Sim speed has dropped to -6 for me.

I've been having this problem as well, and this explenation make sense.  It makes the Mine unplayable, unfortunately.  Just glad to hear it isn't my comp.

Yes, random, it makes mine unplayable for me as well.  That sucks, because I really like the map.

This is repeatable, obviously, and I've noticed that the stuck creeps, as well as some flags and some non-stuck creeps will vibrate violently.  (I'm thinking this is where the slowdown comes in, because the engine is trying to put a whole bunch of objects in two places at once?)  see if you guys notice this

Yes, I have seen flags and men "vibrate" or jerk rapidly while all other untis move normally in the mine map.  This is not present in waterfalls though.

Nice to know that it's not cuase by our hardware, but it's a pity that Mine map is unplayable because of this.

Gotta jump on the bandwagon.  Same thing happened to me as well.

 Never crashed, just REALLY slow.

I have had the same issue.

im i the only 1 that did not have a problem with that map? i played 40 minutes of that map with absolutely no slowdown

Guardian2150 also said there were no problems for him in mine.  Consider yourself lucky.

What is sim speed?

simspeed is a measure of the rate at which the engine can do all the calculations required for the game. it pretty much equates to the game speed, which IINM isn't manually adjustable in the beta.

it's (for the most part) independant of framerate so you can have an awesome simspeed and still have a s*** framerate.

Same problem here. First I thought I´ve hit a secret bullet time key :D

But then I remember Yarlens words in IRC and thought: Hm, ok. maybe my old computer is responsible for it by 50%, the other 50% the problem Yarlen mention.

Statement:

Same thing occured here. Game functions fine until Giants appear, the very second they emerge from the Portal the game seems to suffer a massive memory leak. They also have pathing issues, many Giants get trapped and are unable to move forward as they stand in the middle of the road. They begin to stack one upon the other, as they do the game continues to get steadily slower and slower until the game will eventually freeze. Such makes the map unplayable because you simply can't complete a game on it.
