Browsing the shops while dead, or not near them

IMO that's a very good idea. I would also like to take a look at (and probably increase) my abilities when I'm dead. 10-20 seconds respawn time feels like an eternity in Demigod and there is not much you can do. Checking what's going on doesn't take more than a few seconds. Doesn't matter what it will be in the end but I'd like to have something to do during that time.

I agree, having something to do while your dead is nice. Maybe a few rounds of tic-tac-toe with the computer?

i def think browsing shops while dead is a good idea but not assigning skill points. u cant make urself better while u are not in existance so therefore u have to wait. though again u should be able to look at ur skills so u know exactly what u will do when u respawn.

What's the harm in assigning skill points?  You can't actually use any of the abilities until you respawn.

I think he meant that it wouldn't make sense for someone to learn something while they are dead. Kinda going for the realism there, I suppose.

and half-gods fighting each other inbetween swathes of monsthers and dinosaurs is super-realistic.

it really should be a case of;

gameplay > realism

maybe we can play Sudoku while waiting to respawn?

If you can finish a game in the time it takes to respawn, you should be getting paid to do it professionally.

Whatever is fun, convenient, or adds depth should come before being "realistic."
