I finished making my gameplay example and already uploaded it to a secret location. I can't wait to show it to you all :D

And yes I did lose, but it is still fun to read.

The reason the Arceans are so spread out in mine is that the Yor surrendered to them instead of me to spite me (and yes, that is how it was phrased in the game :)). And one Arcean planet (that was a Yor planet) is way out there because of the infinite range bug. The Yor were losing to two other civs anyway, so I thought maybe I'd vulture in on the deal by attacking them then going for a quick peace and maybe a planet or one of their starbases, but didn't work out that way.

I like running trade routes to the minor civs (except for the Alexians who can be culture flipped) because they generally result in more stable trade routes in my experience. I hate losing a bunch of routes because someone declared war, or because someone was conquered by someone who then declares war on me, or because I culture flip the worlds I'm trading with, etc.

Ps. Did anyone notice the planets on Sol from the savegame ;) ? I replaced Sol IV and Sol V LOL

Just a thought: it will be hard to win a tech victory because culture victory is on...

Well, dikdirk, i only thought it very unusual for Mars to be a class 18 planet. Does that have something to do with it? Or does it sometimes happen?

(just checked) Nice touch, although Jupiter being class 14 :notsure: .

Ellestar, just leave the influencestarbases alone.

Another thought: You can actually check if someone reloaded somewhere because the culturegraphic will show a dip. (Mine does one turn before the save).

Lol.... well actually I was just trying some things ;p ! Let's say I upgraded Mars a little bit to give the players a small advantage. And Jupier a class 14 is also a little bit odd, I have to admit.

I just got a great idea (tell me what you think of it). The winners from each month get a planet/ ship/ governor named after them in game that follows. Will that be a nice touch to get people to try to win?

Or let's say 'Snuis' has a really high score. The next game would have the Drengin Empire renamed to the 'Snuis Warlords'...

Hmmm just thinking to much...must stop drinking coffee, and go to work.

Yeah the other planets being a high (ish) class sometimes happen. I didn't notice mars being class 18 till later on. Doh!

I had to stop playing last night at 2:00 am as I've got work..... I'll finish it off tonight, shouldn't take long, just got to decide how I'm gonna win it!

Well, this gotm is bad ... I got to bed way too late yesterday evening. I was thinking I could get a quick cultural victory, but failed. So I'll take the long culture or tech road ...

Just a thought. How can you have a next turn wins save for a culture victory?

Takes 12 mnts doesn't it? Cause the game forgets total influence, well at least it used to.

Well, I've just won by tech victory and got a score of 403 Metaverse points. Just about to try and figure out how to upload it....

Well, I updloaded mine to Apolyton. 177, cultural. I had a pretty good game start but I was not aggressive enough in middle game (I have many notes and screenshots to prepare an AAR).

just posted my game, 660 military win. I really like this monthly challenge idea and encourage everyone to participate. What is this AAR and how do you make one?

AAR - After-Action Report.
Just write a story about how you played this game.

DonFESQ, I've had problems trying to load your gamesave under 1.03. Works fine under the 1.04 beta though. Interesting to see the conquest movie for only the second time! Also, you've included in the full foldernames for the directory of the save but not for the .sav file. No biggie, just pointing it out so other people know to look out for it....

My AAR is only a text file at the moment, got some screenshots, they bumped the upload to over a meg. Not that they're very interesting, as from my report you'll notice I just sat on my..... behind and went for a tech victory. Well, everyone else seemed to be doing culture..... Also my AAR is more of a DAR, as I had notepad open and was alt-tabbing to it.

It's interesting to see how other people have played! LOL

Mine was also a DAR then :D

I started changing it to html, and putting the screenies at the right place. I took way too many of them (about 50), and as it is the first AAR I write, I don't really know what to say (besides the obvious ;) ). By the way, when is the gotm ending ? (ie when will we be able to post our AAR).

Perhaps 14 June. But i think that 2 weeks (and 2 weekends) is more than enough. So maybe 27 May?

Sounds OK to me.

Have you got a list of volunteers yet to help with sorting through all the info yet? I'm willing to help if needed. It'd also be nice if we could get some features added to the game to help. That "ironman" one would be the most useful, perhaps we should politely request it? Or even if we could get this made into a temporary sticky to drum up some interest?

I enjoyed the game, am looking forward to more. :d It's more of a direct way to compare and compete, I think.

played from 10:00pm to 3:00am non stop. saved twice just in case, but otherwise straight through. got a more exciting than usualy game out of it so yay! i made one big decision in the game that won it for me, it was a little hairy at times but eventually i emerged victorious...end game wasn't that great as i went to the far corners of the map trying to get every last planet, but it had to be done and i did it.

odd thing: i won an alliance vic but the cultural conquest message popped up. oh well, so long as i won. expect an aar in the future...
bump because i want to read other people's aars soon and they will only write them if they play the game...
I can give you a link to my AAR :D But I am not sure if I should post it here.... it might give people an 'unfair advantage'.

What kind of game should we create for next month? I would suggest a medium or large map with a little bit higher difficulty. It would be fun to put in a nice challenge, so maybe an assignment to play a 'good trading civilization' which never goes to war unless being attacked. OR you play a horde of warmongering beasts who will never ever surrender/ pay tribute and will never negotiate to stop a war (only if initiated by the AI). What about that?

I was also thinking to make 2 'campaign games'. So that you have an assignment in the first game, and have to act on the things that happened in the second game. Just some brainstorm idea though.

Any one some better ideas for scoring already?
