Game Randomly Freezes Up: Not covered in FAQs

I just installed DA on this computer right after clean reinstall of XP

 

 

P4 - 2.8 Ghz

1.5 GB of memory

Im using a Nvidia FX5200 (128 mb), and the drivers have been updated to the latest version (May, 2008)

Screen resolution is 1280 x 1024, and all the other settings are the default settings for the video card.

 

The game and computer randomly freezes up completely. I can't do Ctr+Alt+Del, Alt F4, or anything. The only thing that I can to is to pull the power and reboot. This computer has never had any problems with any other programs freezing up... only GalCiv2 DA.

 

I checked the FAQs, readmes, and searached the forum for any other people having this problem. I haven't been able to find anyone having problems when their drivers and resolutions were correct.

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and copy/paste the contents into a post here. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The location you'll find the debug.err in varies depending on your game version:

Dread Lords, all versions:
C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2

Dark Avatar 1.5-1.6 (non-Vista):
C:\Program Files\Stardock\Totalgaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar

Dark Avatar 1.6+(Windows Vista), 1.7+(non-Vista):
My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar

Twilight of the Arnor:
My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug will be erased and recreated for the new session.
