Center Flag is OP

The center flag needs a nerfbat, and fairly badly. When you're early on, it's not too bad. The extra creeps are just cannon fodder, and can be easily AoEd with (insert skill here). While your opps are taking it, you can get that much XP owning creeps.

However, at the later levels, it's ridiculous. At Priests when the creeps become significant, e.g. DOUBLE as many Giants, 50% extra Catas and Priests. I applaud your effort to scale the flag up, but you've gone way, waaay too far with the +1 of every type that currently spawns. When you hold the flag, all their creeps (with associated XP and gold, too) are belong to you, and thanks to Catas, their base and Demigod too. For me, this would create interesting gameplay, IF you were not required to break through previously covered overpowering odds to recap the flag.

Something better would be, say, +10% HP for every creep on the map. When it comes to 200 Minotaur HP or 220, vs a 200 damage AoE (looking at Torchbearer) that's a significant difference, but hardly overpowering.

I disagree.  The center flag should be integral to whichever team is winning.  It creates an element of strategy on when the flag is super important to take and when it can wait.  Its not +1 to every creep persay (yet it ends up being that way).  It gives you +1 upgrade.  So you'll get priests an upgrade earlier than the other team.  So it will only double the number of giants one upgrade before the other side gets its second giant.  It is important to hold at these stages when it happens, but its not necessarily game breaking.

Hm, ive to say i like the flag how she is right now. Because, this thing decides the outcoming of the game - so manage to fight about the flag + pushing at the same time is important. So you raise everything from a tactical-fight lvl to a startegical lvl.

That why we should nerf / remove the Flag Locks - then the War Idol becomse just overwhelmingly powerful. And as you said before - getting it early game just benefits the opponent.

 

I really want to test the flag more, before they change it. I'd like to play maps with flags when the Generals are implemented.

This is beta 1. In beta 2, there will be more flags, so there will not be much of a problem.
