when we had a few people playing lan, the animation would skip every second.
Anyone one else having this?

By "skip every second," do you mean that the animation paused? Or is it that the animation jumped around?
I think it's a bandwidth issue on the lan or somebody's hard drive being slow. Were you playing on a physical lan or on Hamachi? It may also have been a slow hard drive loading information too slowly. I'm not sure which.
I doubt any hard drives are that slow since most assets are preloaded, and he would lag playing by himself.. I think it's just network latency causing stutters or him running out of upload bandwidth.
True. However it may not be his computer at fault, and there are some issues with loading causing lag right now. I think the preloading isn't complete and preemptive loading isn't done yet. I wouldn't have thought of it if it weren't causing problems for other people.
I don't know then, but still, to keep in sync, everybody would probably lag along.
console up 'ren_showNetworkStats' and take a peek at the ping and max sim-speeds of everyone. if there's one ping really high, they're lagging -- if all the pings are high, then you're lagging.
also, i might be useful to show the framerate using the forward-slash key next to num-lock. but then again i can assume the LAN is over now?
I just wanted to add that my friends and I played friday night and 1v1 was ok, but when 4 of us were playing we had a ton of lag as well over a wireless router. half of us were directly plugged into the router and we were all getting lag.
