Map Install Problems

Hi All,

I recently bought Sins and I'm now looking at expanding my Map Roster.

However, having downloading a couple of maps and finding I should move the .Galaxy file to the Galaxy folder I was surprised not to find any of the maps I recently 'installed'.

I was wondering if any of you had any tips as to why this isnt working???

Thanks and Regards

Ben

They most likely were for an old version of the game. What patch are you running?

Well I updated yesterday night...so what ever the most recent is.

The Map I refer to is Chokehold. 10 Player Map

I haven't had a problem with the mods that I have Downloaded, just the maps...

Could you check the lower right corner of the game menu? Is it 1.05 or 1.09?

It Says V1.05, I'm gonna take it that this is the most up to date version?

It's the latest "final" release. 1.09 is a beta patch. Can you open up the map file in Notepad and make sure versionNumber is 1?

Also, these maps will show up in the list with all the other ones. The "Custom maps" section is only for the in-game generated maps. The ones you download will be mingled with all the rest.

Yeah. Though there's a Beta 1.1 (1.09) patch our right now.

I don't see that map anywhere. But for 1.05, I think you should open up the map file in notepad and check to make sure the versionNumber is set to 1.

Edit: Stop bending the space-time continuum, Annatar.

Ok, the Version when using notepad is 0.

Would I be able to change this myself or is it just a case that this map is useless??

Just change it to 1, note what I said above that it will show up among all the other maps, and you'll be good to go :) Also just to save you a possible trip back to the forum, make sure that it's in the Sins install Galaxy folder, not your user path :)
