Multiple Instances of the Same Widget

Can it be done?

I hope this is the correct spot to pose this question.

I have been attempting to run multiple instances of the same widget at the same time. Specifically, I am trying to run two instances of the Silica Picture Frame widget.

Based on experience with other widget-type programs, I tried making a copy of the .exe file and renaming it, then launching the copy.

However the copy does not launch. I have tried launching the second widget both by using the DesktopX "load Widget" command in the DesktopX Welcome menu, and also by simply clicking on the widget file name. Neither method has been successful.

Is it possible to do what I wish to do? If so, what am I neglecting to do?

Thanks for any help.

  I am doing exactly this right now...putting fishies in vStyler's Vitality wall.....
...and I just renamed it...put in a separate file...all that ...didn't work....
have plenty now...I just keep re-clicking on the .exe.....and sea is filling... :)

keep re-clicking on the .exe.
End of quote

that use to work for me, now re-clicking or right clicking to run another seems to have no effect.... (:(

guess I'll try an import later....

Here is what you do, Import the widget into DesktopX builder mode. Then export it as a widget, you will see an option to allow multiple instances to run. Tick the box to allow this, and export. There you now have a widget that will allow multiple instances to run. Hope this helps.  :d

I guess that explains why some work with multiple instances and some don't eh.
