Can't get SINS to start

from Stardock Forums

When I start the game it sits on a black screen and does not start, the game shows as not responding in device manager.

My PC set-up is as follows

CPU = 2.66 Dual Core Duo

RAM = 4GB

Video card = 9800GTX 768MB

HDD 1TB RAID 0

Sound Card = Creative Labs SB X-Fi

I have updated some of the drivers. I have patched the game. Any other suggestions ??  Looks like I am going to have to play Supreme Commander and EVE-Online until I get this sorted. :(

I had that problem, when I modded the game then updated it...

The solution is uninstall Sins, and reinstall and patch with impulse.

Are you running under XP or Vista ?

I notice the black screen varies in time to start, and shows not responding when its there, but it does start eventually.

If your using a mod, I suspect it loads it then as well. So takes longer.

I have noticed that sometimes the game does take a while to load, but when I was getting the problem he has if I pressed the start buttion on the keyboard. It would say Error.
