frozen/stuck dreams?

Hello, new here, my apologies if this is answered somewhere else, I've looked and haven't found the solution yet.

I'm running Windows Ultimate on a quad-core Dell, so the capacity for animated desktops/dreams is innate to my system.  I've been enjoying using some of the great dreams which have been offered on this site.  Most run with no problem and look awesome.  Every now and then I try one which seems "broken" in that all that displays is a static image with no motion/variation.  From the comments on the demo pages, it seems as if these work fine for other, I've deleted and re-downloaded to see if the problem was a download error, but the problem seems consistent.

In particular I've found that "DragonFlight 3" and "FutureWorld" show this problem.  Do some dreams count on having particular Stardock software installed for them to run? or is my Vista Ultimate just more neurotic than most?

Thanks,

Matt

FutureWorld
End of quote

I believe he meant my "Future Earth" dream.

That dream is fairly large so it will take a little time for it to load. Now if it locks up that's another thing.
The only reason I could think that it would lock up is a mgep2 codec conflict. Since you have Ultimate installed it should run fine with the codec it came with.

Have you installed any programs that installed a MPEG2 codec, perhaps a DVD player program or Nero?

Sorry CarGuy1, yes, did mean your Future Earth, I log in late at night when memory and spelling are both iffy. I'll have to check to see if some of the software I use to convert DVDs into formats playable on my Palm TX might have installed an mpeg2 codec, it is distinctly possible. I'm just puzzled why the freezup is so limited and so specific. File size does not seem a problem, but those two are definitely freezing (actually they show what I assume is the first frame and then nothing more but that, they never move at all). Thanks for the information.
