updating...

dont know where else to put this: is there any possibility to get a patch as clean http directlink? i installed this strange program which is supposed to make updating easier... what should i say? after wating several minutes for the updater to update itself, fighting with it to get it to work, more waiting for the download to begin, i uninstalled the whole crap. isnt there ANY way to update the "old-fashioned" way? cant believe that small enterprises already use "jackass-methods" as for example steam, ea downloader or any other shit nobody actually needs. such as impulse.
