The mini-blackmarket tab

In 1024 resolution , it blocks off too much of the screen. 1200 resolution its slightly better.

Any way to minimise this?

no Graph? thats what people use when they buy and sell.

What about selling to other players.

There's an option to turn off the black market stuff on the main gameplay screen.  For the graph and more detailed stuff, you will still need to go to the actual Black Market screen.

No, that's what some people use. I rarely even look at the graph.

... whatever

Well, why would you need the graph (which shows the price without the actual numbers), when you can see the actual numbers? :P

maybe putting a button on that minitab to close so people can close it easily.

That might not be a bad idea.. How about a little tab thing? It'd sit in the center of the window. Clicking it would open/close the black market stuff, but the pirate timer would always be on. That way, if it's "closed", the pirate timer basically doesn't go below the top UI bar, so it blends in. If it's "open", you see the black market stuff too.

It would also help the issue of watching replays, because right now that black market screen covers up all the replay controls and you have to keep going into the interface options all the time. :P With the toggle/tab, you could just quickly close it without going into options, change your speed/player, and pop it back open.

so you can see the trend in prices. Why buy crystal at 475 when it's taking a dive and will soon be around 450?

But you can see the numbers decreasing as well, it's not an immediate jump from 475 to 450 :p Regardless, I doubt the graph would make it onto the main screen, or it would take up way too much room.

I have a different problem with the screen. well, its not exactly a problem, rather a suggestion.

in the bounty part, why do we always see basically the same information in both tabs. seriously the only difference is that one is for increasing bounty and the other is for showing the most highly priced player. what would make a lot more sense imo is to have the right tab always display your portray and the according bounty and on the left side you have the highest player with bounty on the head. if you are the one with most bounty then it changes automatically to the second. that way you can always see how you stand in relation to the most important competition and it gives more information on the same amount of space. increasing if obviously done on the left tab, where that non-you player is.

what would make it even sweeter might be if - in the case of two players have the same amount of bounty on their head as happens at the start of the game - on clicking on increase you could get a list of players who have the same amount so you can chose which one you want to award it to. probably not a big issue, since you will put bounty on top before the time runs out and your target is then more or less fixed anyway and the mini screen is more for those last hectic moments, but still, if there were time to do it ...

At 2560 it's just perfect, nice addition to the game screen!

Too bad you cant drag the window anywhere you want. Id drag it over the bottom left bit which is useless to me.

I agree with Annatar - a button to simply bring the new window in and out would be great.

Yea a minimize button would be a good thing.

On a 1200x800 screen (laptop native resolution) it is handy, but a huge eyesore. Like the OP says it takes up too much view room. I wind up just closing it, and using the old BM menu. Is there any way to make the window a little smaller?

It does seem a bit bulky compared to the rest of the interface, even at higher resolutions.

I was bit thrown to find that the buttons for each resource were arranged horizontally rather than vertically as in the main black market screen.

I want to comment about this just a bit. I find it not that helpful playing a 2V2 or any game that has alliances because you wont get to see if the enemy has put a higher bounty on your ally. And there is no game message if such a bounty is put over your ally. I think there should be a small picture or info on who has the highest bounty on their head in this new tab.

The left part of the window shows who has the highest bounty currently, and the button to the right is to increase it.

I wish you could put ships on the market and sell them (it might be interesting to add arms dealer to the title). You could choose factions you WON'T sell to of course. It wouldn't be anonymous like for resources unless you allowed selling to anyone however (using third persons to sell)

HOWEVER, if you sell anonymously, there's a chance they may end up with Pirates :)

Yeah i just realised that. But i swear that in one game it didn't register when the AI put a higher bounty on my ally...maybe it was just slow...I need to test this more...

There seem to be some conditionals on how it behaves. If you have the highest bounty, the button on the right will instead show the second highest for you to bid on.

I imagine if your ally is highest it won't show it also, because you can't put bounties on people you have a peace treaty with. So in that case it'd probably show the second highest non-allied?

It shows the icon and amount of bounty of who has the highest on the left side. On the button, it seems to show who has the highest amount that you can add to.

I had an issue with it today. It let me put more bounty on a player that had lost, since he had the highest bounty. Normally you can't place bounty on deceased players (and have no reason to), but the tab doesn't check to see if players are dead, only if they have the highest bounty. Well, it excludes allies, I suppose.

Can you create a separate thread about this and label it as a bug?

Also, did you actually click to see if it did add bounty on the dead player, and that he was actually dead? (better safe than sorry :P)
