Linking Maps Idea

Anyone played with the idea of using wormholes to link different galaxy files or games.

not a programmer but following the idea I can then set up multiple servers running different maps, and link the games together, I.E. zones for a roaming Fleet war or just a huge map without the system resource issues.

That sort of thing would likely require some pretty significant changes to the game code itself, which is beyond the scope of mods.

Also the game doesn't use servers!!! (P2P - which is why many people cannot host).
