Why are there (barely) AARs for Maso/Obsc/Suic?

As the title says, why are there barely AARs for the highest 3 difficulties, let alone for Suicidal/Obsc.?

I admit, while some of the other AARs are well-written and everything, I'd really love to see how others are playing/winning their games at the top-difficulties.

I just wanted to write another one for my current game at Obscene-difficulty, but in the end I think people are more interested in well written stories than in reports about "tough struggles". And as nobody else does, and I cannot compete with the "great story tellers" anyway, I won't ;P

But in anyway, how comes that there is a (as far as I can see) total lack of top-level-AARs for ToA? Is it because nobody is playing at those levels? Or do those who do play at those levels not want to share how they play? or how or why? ;P

Games at those levels take a long time to play out. In reality, to win at those levels you need a bit of luck too!

I'm much more interested in reading about games and players' struggles and successes as they play a game. I don't read the fan-fiction type AARs.

So, if you go ahead and write your AAR, you'll have at least one reader. I feel like I really learn a lot from reading AARs from more experienced players.

I have considered it on multiple occasions (I normally play Obscene, but go Suicidal for Zero Year Wins), but in all fairness, when I'm playing, I'm too obsessed with micromanaging my way to succes (or rather to survival, I find that surviving tends to give me the win) to remember the important events and when they happened. I am also too lazy (ironically) to plough through the event log afterwards to fill in the blanks...

That said, I'm still considering doing one "some day". (Wanted to do one this week, but it's already wednesday and I haven't even started the game...)

edit: (or maybe I completely missed your intended "joke"...and you already knew. )

Well, I never went through event logs myself.
Instead I save the game at some "breaking points", like "End of colonization", "first war", "Economic boom" etc. so I can take back and take SS when I want to write an AAR.
I can't take SS during gameplay anyway as the game crashes whenever I try to Alt-Tab out in Fullscreen mode and the game is way too laggy in non-fullscreen for me.

I really enjoyed your new AAR you posted. I didn't want to post in the thread, as I wasn't sure if you were done posting.

yeah, I was done ;P
I dragged the game out for a year longer than I would have to in hopes of some mega-event...but there was none to be had.
And so I eventually finished it, without any further issues.
