WindowsBlinds causing Explorer to crash

Just like the title says.  I get the standard "exporer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" error

Here's the event log:

Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.3156, faulting module wblind.dll, version 4.5.0.0, fault address 0x0005688e.

This happens at (seemingly) random times, and the error is always the same.

I use XP SP2 on a Dell Precision M70 laptop.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Sounds like you are using nview.
Disable nview.

Open the WindowBlinds Configuration screen and click on "System info" then click the "Copy text" button. Paste that info here.

Lantec - It looks like nView isn't running, as far as I can tell. I went into MSConfig and nwiz is unchecked in the startup section, and apparently, that's nView...I didn't want to disable the other nVidia thing that I found in services, because it says "display drivers" and I don't know what effect that will have.

Hankers - Er, I can't find a "system info" button when I open WindowsBlinds, but then again, whenever I open the program, it says "advanced" configuration in the title bar. I don't know if that's the same as regular config. If it isn't, how do I open regular configuration?

How are you opening, from display properties or from a shortcut to WB.

What version of WindowBlinds and where did you download it from.

Cavan1 - I have no idea where WindowsBlinds is from. My friend gave me this laptop and WindowsBlinds was already on it when I got it. It started throwing this error a long time ago. I usually just restart afterwards (because it makes it so I can't minimize things by clicking on their taskbar buttons, which is annoying), but it's getting annoying because it's starting to do it once every two days or so.

I usually use a shortcut in the WindowsBlinds folder in my start menu, because clicking on the WindowsBlinds button in display properties goes to the same window (I just tried it). Also, looks like it's version 4.5.

May be a good idea to uninstall this version and reboot. Run a scanning program to ensure nothing was left behind and then either install the 'trial' version or purchase WindowBlinds.

I am actually having the same problem. I've only been using windowblinds for about a week and so far I am kind of disappointed. It's taken a machine that was 100% stable and made it so I get these explorer.exe errors at least once a day...

The only nVidia product I have installed is my drivers; I don't use nView. I am running Vista Ultimate x64.

Here is my WindowsBlinds config screen text.
