Skin requests...

Sorry dude, you can't actually request any skins or icons. But if you see any skin or iconpack, then you can ask the creator of that skin/icon/etc/ to make a modified or extra skin.

Suppose you like XYZ's iconpack, but it doesn't have a Firefox and Thunderbird icon. You can then ask XYZ to include those icons too. [Of course, you're stuck if XYZ refuses]
Same with a skin. For example, you really like a WindowBlinds skin, but you want the taskbar to be thinner and the colors to be a bit dark...in that case you can ask the creator to create that substyle.

If you want to actually tell someone what kind of skin/icon you want...then it's hard luck. Try requesting here on the forums...there are a few threads I've seen where people request icons/widgets.

What were you looking for? Perhaps someone knows where to find it.That would be far easier than having it made.(And faster too)

Sure you can, although the success of actually getting it is slim to none, unless you offer compensation (ie: a commissioned skin).

The skinners here are ultra-nice, but there's not much of a chance that they'll make a whole skin for one person [Maybe a few icons are fine, but a whole skin or icon pack is rare]

Skinners don't normally make it if there isn't much demand for it...[i.e, you alone won't manage to convince anyone to make anything if it doesn't benefit the skinner in particular]

Yep, and the reason for this is that for say a WindowBlinds skin it takes 60 to 80 hours to create a full complete skin, a full icon pack if Vista ready would/may take even longer.

sure you can.. if you willing to give something back to the skinner .

I think this is a good idea, I mean skin requests, ideas are always welcome.
We could have a section like "Skins Ideas", could be a inspiration source for many.

not being computer-artisticly inclined , but having some really interesting thoughts about what skins I might like to see, I think a skin ideas thread would be highly welcome. doesn't mean I expect my ideas to be used but as danilloOc stated, ideas are always welcome, and sometimes that little spark of an idea can spawn a whole new direction to explore.

If the skin you want is a DX theme, I will do one for you, if you can provide me with some graphics to get started with. If it is to match a certain WB, tell me which one, and if I can get permission, I will do it. Cuz I'm a nice guy...lol.

When you're PC is running good, it blows kissies and tells you it loves you when it's running bad, you get the screaming face and a nasty message.

I got the Zubaz keyboard. The keys QWERTY sequencing has been set to automatically move to different spots as you type, to keep your typos to a minimum of 3 per sentence.

It's much cheaper than the Jafo style where it always spells every thing perfectly no mater what key you press..

It's such a good thing that I now only use  my powers for good and not evil.  Otherwise . . . a few of you would have to be VERY worried.
