Everytime I try to upload my skin it says this. There's nothing wrong with anything I entered in the forms.  Can I have some help?

Can you post a screen shot of the form filled in right before you submit?
Are you using the right file types?

Can you try teh "old" upload page? https://www.wincustomize.com/upload.aspx

I believe you need to take the underscores out of the file names, only letters and numbers can be used.

Try the old upload from link in reply 1, if it does not work the I would say it is a server issue and you will have to wait until they fix it.

What is the filesize of the preview image? Is it proper 640x480 4bit?

The upload link in reply 1 doesn't load.


The size of the preview image is 800x600 and 640x480, I tried both resolutions to no avail.

Hey Bebi, yep should be this for a booty but I don't believe the upload system is set to detect this.

If it is not a server issue, are you trying to upload files from a folder on your system that is password protected. The transfer dialog showing 0 of 0 kinda tells me the server can't find/read files from your end.

Nope. The files are uploaded directly from my BootSkins directory under [Program Files\Stardock]. I have no firewall on. But I suspect it's something wrong with my internet. ATM, I cannot use google search, but I could on my friend's computers. I do not know what causes this. :S

I had troubles uploading at first due to the browser I was using. I had the same message that you appear to be having when nothing was wrong with the files I was trying to upload. I can't tell which browser you are using from your shots, but maybe a change?

If you're uploading a preview of a bootskin, the preview should show exactly how it will look: ie 640x480 in 4bit color. If not it may be rejected due to an improper preview.

I use firefox. Apparently Wincustomize won't even let me log on in Internet Explorer.

I saved them in JPG, because that's the only format they accept as previews.
These previews are direct conversions from the 4-bit bitmaps.

Aren't previews supposed to be a minimum of 1024x768?

For everything else, but since bootskins can only be 640x480, would make sense they would have to be that size.
