Logout problems

Crashing and flakiness when logging off Vista

I just installed the trial version of Deskscapes and sweet mother of awesomeness, this is GREAT!!!

Until I try to log off to switch to another Vista account.  Then bad things happen.  The first time I did it, I got a Blue Screen of Death pointing at my nVidia drivers and saying they were timing out.  The next time I logged out then logged right back in to the same account.  It took a pretty long time to log out and, when I logged back in, the Water Dream only played for a second or two then went black.  A little ! mark in a triangle was sitting in my system tray, too, which makes me think the video drivers might have coughed something up again.

Rebooting (which I do far more often) works great, this only happens with logout that I've seen.

My desktop is at 2048x1536 resolution and I have an EVGA 8800 GTX card, Vista Home Premium.  Latest drivers (175.19), too.  When I installed these drivers, I actually went into safe mode and used DriverSweeper to clean out the old drivers so I shouldn't have any whacky "frankendriver" issues going on.

Has anyone else seen this?  I love the application but I'm a bit gun-shy about it exploding when I log out.

EDIT...  Played with this some more (I want it to work bad!) and it seems to be a resolution thing.  Changing desktop resolutions while Deskcape is playing results in Very Bad Things and probably means a reboot one way or another for me.  Not good.  Being able to switch resolutions without a hassle is why I'm still sitting on an old CRT monitor.  Games switch resolution all the time for me, too.  If the game switches resolution before Deskscape notices a full screen program is running, I'm looking at a crash.  Logging out switches the resolution to whatever the login screen uses, which is why that's having problems.

Here are the versions from Deskscapes:
