Nightmare...last ToA mission

Hi. I just can't figure this one out. I created the Terror Star and when I try to blow up the star, I get a defeated screen. It says the terror star is incomplete or something.

I can't read the mission goals because one is cut off (the one telling what to do).

If anyone has completed this, please tell me how.

Thanks.

So you:
-used 1 constructor to make the TS
-sent 5 more to upgrade it to 100%
-waited 10 weeks for it to come online
-clicked to blow up the star?

If you answered YES to all the above, try to make a colony in another system. You're probably getting a failure message due to your last planet going boom.

That was exactly it! All I had to do was colonize in another system. Thanks Loupdinour!

No problem.

What you really should've done was colony rush all 5 planets in that star system in the beginning of the game before the Iconians or the Krynn can get to them. Just a tip for any future replays of the TOA campaign.

Still wouldn't stop his defeat screen.  You need a planet that will survive the blast, thus you need a planet in another system to win.

So I just finished the last ToA mission, wasn't that difficult.

I didn't really buy the game for the campaign ;) , but overall I enjoyed it, it had some quite unusual missions.

However, I don't understand the last mission.

Just how were you supposed to do this mission? In the briefing you are told that Tandis shared the Terrorstar-techs with you. Yet you still have to research them, wich would take hundreds of turns.

Ok, now you can take creativity and some bonus to research to possibly reduce the time it would take you, but still...

Problem is that the fleet of Arnorian ships you start whith just is too expensive to maintain. So that IMO hints that you shouldn't take too much time to develop your planets and research the stuff yourself.

Leaves trading for the techs. Incidentially the Krynn have them.

But honestly, why the Krynn? Do they have their own Arnor hidden away in some closet? Are they really some sinister death cult trying to destroy the galaxy? Plus, it somehow feels like cheating, doing it like this.

Guess what I'm trying to say is, I would either like to have some mission were I have to develop my planets and then research the stuff, without the huge Arnorian fleet killing my economy OR some mission were I already have the stuff I need and the challenge is more something like reaching the star to blow up without getting killed first. Btw, some kind of epilogue explaining what happened after destroying the shards would have been nice...

But honestly, why the Krynn?
End of quote

Well, at one point it was the Iconians...not sure why they pulled the techs from tham and gave it to the Krynn.  /shrug

As for an epilogue....I guess that's what GC3 will be for.  Kinda like ending a season of TV with a big explosion, leaving you on the edge as to the end result.
