Hey Guys...was just wondering if there were any updates on the fantasy 4X game from Stardock coming?  havent heard anything in a while.

not sure where you got your info from but according to this interview, the fantasy 4x game will be their next game after demigod & there will not be a GC3 in this decade.

At first i was worried about all that time until there will be a GC3. But then it hit me, this decade is over in only a year and a half. Where does the time go...? I doubt it would out by the end of this decade even it it were the next game on their list.

But I agree with GW, I'd like to see the Fantasy game before GC3.

Ahem. I "invented" the rumour title NotMoM, and I heartily object to having her replaced with some stand-in paternalistic acronym. Plus almost none of the spell-outs are keeping with the fantasy theme ;p

I thought Demigod wasn't programmed by Stardock, so why would it hold up the Fantasy game? I don't mind GC 2.0 coming first , but I want a Fantasy game with customizeable elves and uniforms at some point...

The AI better be as good as this, or better. Someone in the forums mentioned Dominions 3 as a turn-based fantasy strategy game, and I checked it out. It seems like the AI is quite predictable, which turns me off despite how amazingly deep the game is hailed to be. If the AI can't keep up with the game's complexity, what's the point?

From the home page of the Journals;

Right now, the team is working on the "unnamed fantasy strategy game" sometimes called "not-MOM" (not Master of Magic).  It's a totally new graphics engine that makes use of multi-core CPUs and GPUs but will still run fine on lower end hardware thanks to built-in detection that will determine "how much stuff" to display in real-time.

That game will go into public beta early next year and its release date will be largely based on player feedback.
