ODZIP.DLL Missing

Whenever I click the Edit in SkinStudio link in the latest WB release I get an error:

I get a Caution! dialog that says "Cannot find ODZIP.DLL. The Dll must be in the applicationdirectory, the path, the Windows directory or the Windows System directory."

I am using all latest software and it is all installed correctly.  I am using SKS 6.1.  Possibly WB has not been updated in this area, to use SKS 6.1?

from me, reinstalling SDC over itself straightens it out

or you could adapt Reply #4

OK, I installed SDC from scratch, but SDC should certainly not be a requirement to open a theme in SkinStudio from within WB. All it did was cause another error, it comes up now with a dialog that says: "Error Opening File C:\Program Files\MSImport\Resources\skssplsh.dat!", and when you click OK it opens up a window that says it is Stardock SkinStudio Professional and a different dialog comes up saying: "The file type is not supported in this version of Stardock SkinStudio Professional. Another version, that supports the file type, is available from Stardock.", when you click OK to that, the dialog and the window close.

I also followed the instructions in the other post you referenced (Reply #4), same results.

not, but SDC installs various items like the sdczip and odzip - try reinstalling sdc over itself (don't uninstall it first) - it's what usually sorts it out for me

is this from that post with Brad? (I read it today, downloaded it, but haven't unzipped it yet) - maybe it's not ready for 6?

Huh, just opened WB and click the edit in skinstudio and it opened sks5 not 6.1

Right, that is the problem, WB has not been updated to open SKS6.1, it tries to open SKS 5, which Ido nto even have installed.

I do not think the C:\Program Files\MSImport\Resources\skssplsh.dat path has anything to do with the file that Brad put up in my other thread concerning Death of a Company (TGTSoft).

Also, no, I do not have that folder or file on my system.

I just installed SKS 6.1 beta on an XP bench machine using both SDC and Impulse. It works fine both directly and via WB. Since 6.1 can't reside with 5.01 installed, my guess is you both have remnants of 5 on your machines...most likely a Registry cross reference.

Could be yrag, but someone at Stardock will no doubt have to tell me how to fix it. ;)

Try this: WWW Link Kill anything that smells like any version of SKS. Then try a fresh install.

I had both installed - previously when 6 was coming out it was posted both could be

just uninstalled 5 - get no reaction now trying to edit from within WB

might want to archive a copy of 6 first, then

try: https://www.stardock.com/files/odnt_zapper.exe

I got a feeling it will take out all version of SkS

Thanks all! All I had to do I found out was uninstall SKS 6.1 again and reinstall it after I had removed SKS 5. Did not even need to use the zapper.

Thanks again! ;)

If I'm understanding correctly, SKS5 cannot be installed along with the latest SKS6? :NOTSURE:

yes they can, but the 'edit in sk' via wb config only finds one of them

The original 6 release would run on the same system with 5 installed. The newest 6.09 beta will not. If you install the beta via Impulse, it will un-install 5 prior to installing 6.

Would that be something like......they don't play nice together or, perhaps, they can't be installed on the same system?????? ;p

That sucks ... I still use SKS5 to do the things that can't yet be done with SKS6.  X-(

I've had both installed since the original 6

having both installed caused me no troubles - but then I don't usually use WB to open a skin to edit

Bichur,

Do you have SKS 6.09a[b].028 (as listed in Impulse) installed?

no, I have 6.09a[b].026 (as listed in SDC) installed. I give up on Impulse after 45min of 'retrieving latest information'
