Tactical Structure Limit

I seem to have hit a Tactical Structure limit in my current game.  I am a newbie to the game and this game is the largest Star System that I have tried.  It isn't a case of running out of tactical slots.  When I click on a structure that is buildable I see 3 or 4 'bar like' things immediately below my curser.  I only have about 10 planets so I can’t believe I have hit a limit.

boballen no such thing. Are you sure youve got the right planet's gravity well selected? Are you sure the technology is researched?(not researching researched) It will still allow you to place framework if the technology is researching(BAD idea for front line bases, easy way to lose money).

Thanks for the reply maheshjr2004. I am absolutely sure the research has been completed. I have just about finished the research tree and I cannot even build a Hanger Defense structure. It is highlighted as it should be and the Infocard says Buildable, but when I click on it to build nothing happens except for the additional "dots or tiny squares" under the cursor.

Problem solved!! I had accidentally turned on "Auto Placement OFF!!!" so the game was waiting for me to place the structure. When I toggled to Auto Placement On everything was back to normal.

Agreed. Boballen, highly recommend you play with autoplacement turned off. A hangar and regen bay in the middle of a cluster of turrets is a good AI defense (although of course that won't work well against humans).

Ya bob seriously Auto placement sucks. Retro is right about the humans part because they will target the hanger and regen first. But you really wont have to worry about pirates at all ever with a well placed base.
