Question: Planetary exploration

so does anyone actaully spend the resources on planetary exploration? i've only done it 4 times so far and 3 of those times i've gotten nothing.  The increased crystal resourcing on the 4th one was kind of nice.


Anyways, what are you experiences with planetary exploration? worth the money?

Later in the game, yes. Early, no, unless you have advent and have researched the planetary exploration capability. That moves it from a late-game thing to do to a mid-game thing to do.

I agree with "theretroboy" the only time you should do this is at the middle or late beginning of the game. I find that even though I use the upgrade with the advent I still use it later. I also use the upgrade on more important planets first like major resource ones in case you get a crystal upgrade or metal or something.

Ok so is there a general consensus that exporation late game is worth it? Say, i've got 3k cash and instead of buying a cap, i explore all over the place. That would be worth it?

Depends on how many artifacts have already been found. If eight have already been found, you're only going to find one yourself. If three have already been found and it's a large map, you might want to explore in case you find one of the other six. Considering how powerful some of the artifacts actually are, they can be an incredible boost to your fleet.
