How Can I Get WOW to Work With Secondary Screen?

I have tried to get multiplicity to work when I have WOW or FFXI on the primary screen, but I cannot seem to get it to work. It works whenever I do not have WOW or FFXI on the primary, but when I start one of the games up, it locks to the primary and I cannot switch back and forth. EVE-Online works fine, so I have no clue what is wrong. Please help. I sent one trouble ticket in to the troubleshooting desk when I first bought Multi Pro and they never responded.

Defiance...
check if the option "Automatically lock the mouse when a fullscreen app is running" is active...
I use WOW (World of Warcraft?) here, and it works...

It is not active. I still try to play World of Warcraft and it still will not work with secondary when I have it on the primary. I also restarted my computer so changes could take full effect. I am running Multi Pro 1.21.017 also. I really appreciate your help though, Stardock still has not even e-mailed me yet. Oh, and my secondary monitor is a 19" 1440*900 hooked up to a Dell Inspiron 9300, Primary is a 22" 1680*1050. Secondary Machine is running XP Media, and Primary is running Vista Ult 32bit.

Did you create a case either through [email protected] or https://esupport.stardock.com?  You should have gotten an auto-response.  If you didn't, they didn't get it.  The spam monster may have eaten it.

Go to https://esupport.stardock.com and create a new case (or search for your old one.

did you get any update on this from stardock? I just started having exact same issue today. My secondary works perfect until i fire up WoW on it and my tray icon immediately goes gray on primary computer. then it randomly goes in an out but is completely unusable. Ive used this setup for years and have never seen this issue before. I tried rebuilding network connections, resetting hub, rebooting, and none have worked.

I have been working with Stardock with troubleshooting this problem and they were saying it is probably a setting within the WOW game itself. They could not assist me further because the support person is not familiar with MMO games. I have no clue anymore.

Hey,

Disable the "full screen" thing, of WoW...
Run it maximized... might work...

I apologize for not replying in a while. I have tried to work with Stardock and they could not find out why it is not working. I also tried minimizing WOW and running it like that, but it still does not work. I am thinking it could be that I am running Vista on one machine and XP on another, or it could be the different monitor resolutions. I have one monitor that is a 22" 1680*1050 and another at 1440*900. Stardock did not tell me to check or how to configure the monitor settings though. I am just going to wait it out and hopefully I did not just waste my money on this program.

For when I still played this did work for me. Despite the Vista/XP issue. Something else has to be intervening on the connection for it to be happening. I can't speak for FFXI anymore but PlayOnline is a tricky and strange program. I wouldn't be the least be suprized if it could block incoming connections like this.

I would see what else is running and try running just Multi and WoW in this suggested method. See if you can't get something to work on your end.

I cannot play another game when I play WOW on primary. It is like it locks on wow when I do not have setting on lock or anything. I think it might be Vista. I can play 2 games as long as WOW is on secondary computer and it is running XP.

I'm setting up a test here. Are you on a wired or wireless network?

On a wired network. Stardock has just e-mailed me and found out the problem. It is Windows Vista's User Account Control. They said when it is on, it affects the screen changes in certain games. I turned it off and I have no problems now. Everything works perfect. All this time and I just had to turn off UAC. Thank you everyone for your help and thank you Stardock and Thinkdesk, now that everything is working, this is a great program and I love it.

To add to that it can go both ways, regardless which is the primary or secondary.
