cant connect to friends game but can connect to others

whats the deal? he cant join mine and i cant join his but we can play other peoples games no problem. i turned all my antivirus off thinking it would help...then thought us being on google talk was a probelm but that didnt help either. any advice?

Please read/search before posting. All of the information needed is provided in my guide "Networking and SINS" linked-to from my sticky at the top of this forum, or bottom of the "Technical FAQ".

Download, read/follow all of the steps in my guide (Networking and SINS, not the other guide) and you'll both be fine to connect to each other.

I have been playing with my friend for several weeks now and we are having the same problem. We did not change any settings to cause this.
