'Desktop' and 'Internet' Icon

Unable to modify

Hello everyone,

I recently decided to buy Object Desktop, but seem to have some nagging difficulties with some icons.

The first one is the 'Desktop' icon, which stays standard Windows XP no matter what .suite file I use. For example, if I'm in a word document and click on 'save as', a windows explorer window appears with 5 icons on the left (My Recent Documents, Desktop, My Documents, My Computer and My Network Places). Every icons use the .suite package except the Desktop icon, no matter what .suite I use.

My second problem is with the 'Internet' or 'Windows' icon you see in the top right corner (under Minimize, Maximize and Close icons) when you open a folder. If I install a .suite and then switch back to default Windows XP, this icon remain as it was when the .suite was installed.

Are these know issues or it there something I'm missing?

Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand your answer as far as the 'Desktop' or 'Show Desktop' icon is concerned. What I meant was that usually the icon package or suite used would correctly modify this icon but would leave a few instance using the default icon (which just doesn't fit well with most icon package).

As far as IE goes, I'm not refering to the 'Internet' icon, but really to that flag-like icon with the Windows logo on it which you can find in the upper right corner when you open a folder.

So, anyone with further input?

Thanks.

not just suites. Seems to be all icon packages I've looked at so far...

maybe an IconPackager limitation

I'm guessing you meant "anyone else" ;)

Unfortunately, doesn't appear so at this time.
So you got me... basically posting inane quasi drivel.

but look on the bright side...

everytime I do this, it bumps the post back up on the list :CONGRAT:

Not a bad thing in itself. ;)

For the 'Internet' icon, I don't have a screenshot unfortunately. Seems that not every suite modify this icon. The Mako or the Intrigue do for example. The only way I could revert it back was through a system restore. Not a bad way of doing things, but not the most practical.

As far as the 'Desktop' icon is concerned, that's very annoying. I'm probably too much of a perfectionnist, but that means the only themes I'll probably use are the one who go well with the default icon, because yes, it's all or nothing with me. :NOTSURE:
