Company VPN Blocks Local Lan Access

Hello All,

I am trying to figuire out a solution to my issue. I currently have a laptop that I use to connect via VPN to my office. While connected to VPN, all of my local lan traffic is blocked. So they are sending me a seperate machine and monitor to have so I don't have to have extermly slow internet speeds through the vpn.

I don't want to have to use a KVM to switch between and I discovered Multiplicity. It is excatly what I would like to accomplish, however, since being on vpn will block local lan, it won't work.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to over come this?

Thanks in advance.

Is that a setting in the VPN client?  I use MP with VPN on both primary and secondaries with no issues.

Yes, it is a security policy within the cisco vpn client to block local lan access.

I have to say with out LAN access at all I don't know of many steps you can take. Is it an all or nothing security setting? Can certain ports be set aside in Cisco to allow access? If so then you can set Multi to the same specific ports.

Would a direct  firewire connection work?
Is it possible to network through USB?

I would have to try a direct USB connection. I am not sure if that would be blocked. As far as ports, from everything I have read online, it seems to only effect all TCP/IP traffic.

It isn't impossible to do it that way. I will ask the developers about this to see if they have any insight on the matter.
